NPSOT Level 4 Native Landscape Certification Program

$50NLCP is a series of day-long classes that teach best practices for native plant landscaping – including wildlife habitat gardening. Each class consists of an indoor training session (online for this presentation) and a plant identification section. Plants native to the local ecoregion will be shown in landscape usage. Each level presents 45 native Texas plants recommended for landscape use and 5 plants to avoid. Classes are adapted to the area in which they are offered.
The Level 4 Native Landscape Certification Program is designed with Texas Master Naturalists in mind and does NOT require that you take Level 1.

- What land stewardship is and why it matters
- Applying stewardship – from urban yards to large natural areas
- Threats to natural habitats and resulting impacts
- How to create an effective land stewardship plan, including
- researching and assessing what you have,
- setting and prioritizing your goals,
- prioritizing and implementing appropriate land management practices, and
- monitoring and re-assesing the effectiveness of your land stewardship plan.
