Galveston Bay Foundation’s Rain Barrel Program works in partnership with Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages to conserve water and reduce stormwater runoff, pollution, and bacteria entering Galveston Bay.
Join us on Saturday, September 14th from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at Mercer Botanic Gardens (22306 Aldine Westfield Rd., Humble, TX, 77338). The workshop will consist of a supply pickup, hands-on presentation, Q&A session with Galveston Bay Foundation staff, and a chance to explore the beautiful gardens. The presentation will discuss water conservation tools like Water My Yard, the environmental benefits of reducing freshwater usage and collecting rainwater, as well as proper rain barrel preparation, installation instructions and tips.
Participants who purchase a rain barrel and kit can pick up their supplies between 10:00 and 11:30am and opt to stay for the hands-on installation presentation at 10:30am. Pre-registration is required to reserve a barrel but the event itself is free and open to all, so please bring family and friends.
