Greetings Greenbelt Guardians–
Despite our last 5 visits, Rush Haven still needs work. The air potatoes are on the vine and on the ground. The largest tuber recently retrieved weighed in at 1.5 pounds! We need to get them out before they take root and create more issues. Please contact Lisa or Gretchen if you can join and, if so, which date(s).
Saturday, November 9 and Monday, November 18, Rush Haven
Targeted species: Air Potato
Time: 8:00-11:00 am – come when you can, leave when you must.
Location: Greenbelt behind 155 Rush Haven Drive
Park on Rush Haven near 155 Rush Haven Drive or on Sandpebble Drive and then follow the ITF signs and orange ribbons to find us in the woods about 5-6 houses down on the left side of the fence line.
Dress for the elements with sturdy waterproof shoes or boots, garden gloves and hat; also bring bug repellent and water. Wear your Invasives t-shirt—or if this is your first time volunteering with ITF, claim your shirt!
Other helpful tools: eye protection, hand pruners, digging trowels, sharpshooters. Make sure your tools are labeled. We do have some lopping shears, sharp shooter shovels and mini shovels.
