Join us for a two-day virtual seminar dedicated to The Science of Sound! Whether you’re an avid birder or a beginner, this event explores the fascinating world of sound-based bird identification, from field techniques to the technology used to recognize and track bird calls.

On November 19th, we’ll feature Kristi Dranginis, who will lead a session on the skill of “birding by ear,” perfect for honing your listening skills and enhancing your birding experience.

The event continues on November 20th with Dr. Damon Lesmeister, as he shares how cutting-edge technology transforms research and the ability to monitor the biodiversity of the forest.

All virtual seminars will be recorded and made available for later viewing by participants.

The funds raised through our virtual birding seminars support our youth program, Rio Diablo Birding Camp.
