The Secret Oaks of Big Bend

Embark on a journey of discovery with Jacob Martin, Greenhouse Manager and Head Horticulturist at Mercer Botanic Gardens, as he takes the audience through his exploration of the Big Bend region to unravel the secrets of several isolated native oak species,  Delve into the fascinating world of Texas’ isolated Quercus oblongifolia and the threatened relict Quercus hinkleyi and gain insights into the collaborative efforts of educational institutions and botanical gardens to safeguard these species from disappearing.  Don’t miss the opportunity to expand your knowledge and contribute to the preservation of our natural heritage.
