Everything we love about Texas requires water. And we’ve been fortunate to have the state’s rivers, lakes, and aquifers meet most of our water demands. However, with growth, the everpresent threat of drought, and a warming climate, we have our challenges cut out for us. In this presentation, Mr. Mace will introduce the major water resources of Texas, touch on water planning, and talk about what a warming climate might mean for our future.
Through Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s (TPWD) Texas Waters program, a corps of well-informed volunteer specialists is developed who provide education, outreach, and service dedicated to the beneficial management of aquatic resources and aquatic habitats within their communities for the state of Texas. Certification requirements, advanced training, and service opportunities can be found on TPWD’s Texas Water Specialist webpage. Join one or all the Texas Waters webinars to learn about Texas aquatic ecosystems, partnerships, water laws, and conservation efforts.
