Give a Gift to the new Texas Master Naturalist Endowment!

December 6, 2016 by

The newly created Texas Master Naturalist Endowment will continue our commitment to the betterment and stewardship of Texas’ natural resources.

Gifts can be made in honor and in memory of someone. Texas Master Naturalists can request gifts of a donation for birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, etc.

The Texas Master Naturalist Program has grown from one chapter established in 1997 to 46+ chapters in 2016, yet the level of funding and program support staff remains the same. We have outgrown the federal funding available at this time. An opportunity exists to create a self-sustaining funding source for expansion, program support, and opportunities to further support local chapters in new ways.

With the strong partnership between the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, we are working to increase the Texas Master Naturalist Program’s capabilities and capacity. And we need your help.

Consider making a donation to the Texas Master Naturalist Endowment. Our goal is to raise $25,000 to secure a permanently funded endowment with the ultimate goal being $5 million dollars. This figure was chosen very specifically. The current annual budget for the TMN program is approximately $200,000. When we are able to reach the goal of a $5 million endowment, the endowment will generate a guaranteed 4% return annually, providing another $200,000 back to the TMN Program.

A contribution toward the TMN Endowment means the program will have secure and sustainable funding now and for future generations who will follow your example to understand and become stewards of our natural resources. Your donation will go solely to the TMN Endowment. These funds will be used for a variety of growth opportunities at state and local chapter levels, including, but not limited to, chapter project grants, support for Annual Meeting or regional events, additional regional or programmatic staff, additional technical support, etc.

Tax-deductible donations can be made online through this secure link: http://give.am/TexasMasterNaturalist. The TMN Endowment has been created under the umbrella and administration of the Texas A&M Foundation which is a 501(c)3 nonprofit entity. If you are considering a gift other than cash, such as an estate gift, stocks, annuity or other options, please contact Darin Paine or 979-458-5725.

Please consider giving to support the Texas Master Naturalist Program as it has made an impact on the people, wildlife, flora and fauna in Texas and broadened the scope of natural resource conservation within our community.
