Heartwood Chapter well-represented at TMN Annual Meeting

October 26, 2016 by

The Heartwood Chapter had a strong representation at the TMN Annual Meeting. It was held at La Torretta Resort on Lake Conroe from Oct. 21-23, Friday through Sunday. Our chapter tied for the highest number of registered attendees with 31 members registered out of the total of 485. There were 114 attendees who were newly trained this year as TMNs. There are 46 TMN chapters in the state and 42 had some members in attendance. This was the largest Annual Meeting since they began in 2001.

Seven Heartwood members received award pins for reaching milestone service hours:

  • John Stacy – 1,000 hours
  • Robert Johnston – 500 hours
  • Krien VerBerkmoes – 500 hours
  • Andre Houser – 250 hours
  • Carolyn Langlinais – 250 hours
  • Jay Rubens – 250 hours
  • Jennifer Seale – 250 hours

Silent Auction

Some of the 17 Heartwood volunteers for the Silent Auction

Our Heartwood chapter hosted the Silent Auction held to raise funds for the TMN programs and the meeting next year. Seventeen volunteers staffed the Silent Auction from early morning to late night. Heartwood members donated over 100 items to the auction, several of which received the highest bids. This Silent Auction was the largest ever and raised over $11,600! Our chapter receives 20% of the proceeds.

Congratulations and Thank You!
