Heartwood Recycles!

As Master Naturalists, most of us happily do our part to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle plastics, electronics, glass, cardboard, paper and so on. Reducing our use of single-use plastics is a great way to help make an impact. But we can go further!

The Heartwood Chapter has partnered with Terracycle to collect “hard to recycle” items. We will begin collecting things that are “free” to recycle. “Free” in this case means someone, namely a corporation, is paying for the process. All we have to do is collect.

The items we can collect are ‘Swifffer’ refills, empty writing pens, and aerosol cans.

Start collecting these items now. In April/May, we will communicate next steps!

This is a work in progress, so send feedback to Sharon Newsome at [email protected]
