February 12, 2023 by heartwoodpres

There are two nature-related art exhibits in our area that Texas Master Naturalists will enjoy.

Washed Ashore in Galveston – Sculptures made from plastic items that have washed up on a beach. It is aimed at educating the public’s about the hazards of plastic pollution in our waterways. There are 19 sculptures at various locations on the island. They include a shark, octopus, eagle and jellyfish. The sculptures are free and available to view through March 5, 2023. https://www.visitgalveston.com/blog/washed-ashore-art-to-save-the-sea-traveling-exhibit-in-galveston-texas/

Houston Botanic Garden Nature Connects – works of wildlife art made with LEGOs to explore the balance of ecosystems and our relationship with nature. Adult tickets are $12.50-$15 including admission to the gardens. https://hbg.org/natureconnects/ This is the last week to see this exhibit, as it closes on February 19, 2023.
