Partnership with Montgomery County Beautification Association

August 21, 2020 by heartwoodpres

Ever feel like plogging? Playaking? Pliking? Or just plain plalking?

According to Merriam Webster’s website: Plogging is a term invented by Erik Ahlström referring to the act of picking up trash and litter while jogging. It is a portmanteau of the Swedish term plocka upp, which means “to pick up,” and jogging.

Okay, but does it count for Master Naturalist hours? We’ve developed a partnership with the Montgomery County Beautification Association (MCBA) to make that happen.

Perform individual or group projects through MCBA’s Adopt A Spot program, that addresses Beautification, Litter Abatement, Recycling, or Public Lands/Waterways Maintenance. The program works like this:

  1. Fill out this form BEFORE you plog: Authorization form. Prior approval must be received from [email protected].
  2. Reporting after the project to [email protected] must be completed in 7 days. Submit photos with this form: Completion form.

Questions about the Adopt-A-Spot program should be addressed to:
