2023 Coastal Watershed Symposium – Two-Day Event

September 20, 2023 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

$40

Houston’s scorching summer has caught our CEO, Brittani Flowers, in the spotlight!

On Friday morning, August 25th, Brittani Flowers, President and CEO of Bayou Preservation Association (BPA) shared insights with Craig Cohen of Houston Matters on NPR Houston Public Media about a growing concern for our beloved Bayou City: severe drought. It’s no secret Houston is experiencing extreme weather, and we’re already in stage two of our drought contingency plan. In her discussion, she dives into the seriousness of this issue and its profound impact on our environment — listen here to learn more.

Are you concerned about future droughts and preserving Houston’s natural environment? Join us at the 2023 Coastal Watershed Symposium, where Brittani and other experts will dive deeper into the challenges we face. Discover innovative solutions, connect with fellow environmental enthusiasts, and be a part of the change we urgently need to safeguard our precious bayous. Secure your tickets now and let’s make a difference together!

The two-day symposium will occur on Wednesday, September 20th, and Thursday, September 21st, via Zoom from 8 am to 12 pm, each day.

BPA’s highly anticipated 2023 Coastal Watershed Symposium is back, with a keynote address by Dr. Andrew “Andy” Sansom. Centered around the theme of Balancing Growth, Preservation, and Restoration, this engaging event will provide valuable insights and inspiration to help shape the future of our bayous and waterways. As our region undergoes ongoing growth and development, we must remain dedicated to our goals of resilience, sustainability, and preserving our water resources and watersheds. Join us as we explore the strategies being implemented to address and overcome these challenges, both in our region and in other areas facing similar issues. Discover successful approaches and identify areas where our collective efforts can be strengthened to mitigate adverse impacts in the future.
