What’s a Naturalist book club?

May 29, 2020 by heartwoodpres

We have had our first meeting of the Heartwood Book Club and the consensus is Let’s do it again!

How does it work?

You read the month’s selection which, unfortunately, doesn’t count for AT hours. But then when you join the discussion, that time counts for Advanced Training. So as you read: highlight favorite passages, take notes of questions you’d like to pose to the group, read or watch anything that will broaden and inform your understanding of the book.

What are we reading?

Our next book, a recommendation from our TPWD advisor, Diana Foss, is Nature’s Best Hope by Douglas W. Tallamy.

When do we meet?

Depending on the number who sign up, we’re still meeting virtually. We’ll be meeting on June 25th at 7pm.  For more information, and to sign up, visit https://txmn.org/heartwood/calendar/heartwood-book-club-reads/.
