Join us an immersive educational event at Texas State University providing an in-depth look into the Edwards and Trinity aquifers. By attending you’ll gain a better understanding of local hydrogeology, how groundwater is managed in the region, and what you can do to help conserve this precious resource.

Conservation Activities
Engage with the world of Texas Hill Country water through hands-on activities, information, and giveaways from dozens of local organizations in the LBJ Ballroom. Participating groups include Hill Country Alliance, San Marcus River Foundation, Meadows Center for Water and the Environment, Hays Trinity Groundwater Conservation District, and more.

Land Acknowledgement and Hydrogeology Overview
Dr. Mario Garza and Maria Rocha, elders from the Miakan-Garza Band of the Coahuiltecan People, will welcome us to the land now known as San Marcos through a Land Acknowledgement. Then, Dr. Robert Mace will give an overview of the hydrogeology of the Texas Hill Country that we know and love.

Groundwater Panel, Q&A, and Door Prizes
You’ll hear from groundwater leaders from the Barton Springs/Edwards Aquifer Conservation District, Hays Trinity Groundwater Conservation District, and the Edwards Aquifer Authority. They’ll discuss how local aquifers are managed at each of their entities and ways we can work together to conserve Hill Country groundwater resources now and for years to come.
