Webinar Description:
Aquatic macroinvertebrates are small (but not microscopic) water-dwelling critters that are important to scientists, natural resource managers, anglers, conservationists, outdoor recreationists, hikers, educators, birds, fish, frogs, raccoons, and others. Because different types of macroinvertebrates tolerate different stream conditions and levels of pollution, their presence or absence is used to indicate clean or polluted water.
The MacroBlitz project, funded by the National Geographic Society, is launching this spring. MacroBlitz is a project to inspire and empower people to make observations of aquatic macroinvertebrates and upload them to iNaturalist for science and for learning. This project can be a stand-alone or an addition to another project. The target geographic area is North and South America.
