Texas Flycatcher Identification Workshop
It’s always exciting when flycatcher season hits Texas. However, this is also a nerve-wracking time because flycatchers can be very confusing, even for seasoned birders. The migratory status of many of our flycatchers in Texas is quite confused because of these challenges in identification. We will hold an interactive workshop on flycatcher ID. We will begin with Acadian Flycatcher and Eastern Wood-Pewee, our most common and most misidentified flycatchers. We will then work our way to Least and Yellow-bellied Flycatchers and if there is time on Willow and Alder.
Feel free to send me any mystery photos you have ([ctlee@rice.edu](mailto:ctlee@rice.edu)) if you want to have an open discussion. Provide location and date of your bird.
In order to prevent zoom-bombers, you have to register for the workshop.
When: May 9, 2025 08:00 PM Central Time (US and Canada)
