Redbud Phenology: Project 101

February 11 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Smithsonian Environmental Research Center
Join Dr. Jorge Santiago-Blay for a free webinar about the Redbud Phenology Project. One of the most iconic native North American trees is the eastern redbud (Cercis canadensis), and we need your help to collect observations so that we can better understand the timing of this tree’s buds, flowering, fruiting, and more across the United States. In this one-hour webinar, Dr. Santiago-Blay and USA National Phenology Network staff will highlight why this project is so important and how you get involved. For those local to the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center’s campus in Edgewater, Maryland, stay tuned for a follow-up event where you can practice your skills together later this spring. Everyone is welcome! Whether you are looking to learn something new or want to participate, this free webinar is for you. This event is will be recorded, and all who register will receive a link to the recording. Closed captions will be available during the live stream and on the recording. Note: Views expressed during this talk belongs to the individual speakers and not the Smithsonian.
