Our mission is to develop a corps of volunteers to provide education, outreach, and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas within our communities.
The South Texas Chapter of Master Naturalists was established in 2002 at Corpus Christi. It encompasses three counties, Kenedy, Kleberg and Nueces counties. The membership has grown steadily and the small corps of dedicated and committed members have sustained it.
Our chapter currently has approximately 60 members and volunteers. The knowledge and experience of each individual bring, when combined with the natural history as well as flora and fauna of Texas flora and fauna, makes a diverse group that is needed to conserve and preserve Texas’ natural resources. Furthermore, we all enjoy the natural beauty of Texas.
We are supported by the Texas Cooperative Extension and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
