AT: Basic Bird Biology – A Primer for Master Naturalists

Objectives:
  • Examine and compare the different bird feathers from study skins.
  • Learn to handle study-skins of birds.
  • Identify and understand the function of each type of feather.
  • Compare the feathers, beaks, and legs of different birds.
  • Investigate various physical adaptations of birds.
  • Discover the difference and value of both mounted specimens and study-skins of birds.
