AT: Ichthyology – A Primer for Nearshore Marine, Estuarine and Freshwater Fish

Objectives:
  • Identify the major external body parts of fish.
  • Dissect a fish specimen to recognize internal body parts.
  • Utilize a dichotomous fish family key.
  • Learn the basic geologic history of fish. (Handout)
  • Examine some structural adaptations of fish.
  • Recognize 10 local fish species.
  • State some basic evolutionary traits of fish.
