Ray Allen et al., “Nueces River System, Water Rights and the Requirements for Environmental Flow”, Lecture

Advanced Training Opportunity: Ray Allen, Rocky Freund, and Steve Ramos will present an in depth look at the Nueces River and freshwater inflows to our bays and estuaries.  They will explore  the history of our reservoir system and how it was permitted, the benefits of freshwater inflows, and available scientific research, as well as take a detailed a look at the legal requirements for providing freshwater to the Nueces estuary to help maintain a healthy ecosystem.  You will learn who the key players and authorities are, why you periodically see water flowing over the salt water dam at LaBonte Park, and how it all fits together.  For more information click here.
