Speaker: Liz Tipps and Scott Aldrich
Liz Tipps – Liz moved to McKinney in 2019 from Muleshoe Tx where she and her family lived for over 30 years. Liz is from Joliet, Illinois, and received her Associate Degree in Applied Science Nursing in 1977. Liz moved to Texas to attend West Texas State University. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1979 and a Master of Science in Nursing from Lubbock Christian University in 2008. Her career has included oncology, dialysis, school nursing, home health, and her favorite, nursing education. She has also been a summer camp nurse at Camp Honey Creek for Girls for 29 years, working 2 months every summer. Liz became a Master Naturalist in 2023 to learn more about caring for our environment and becoming the most positive advocate possible.
Scott Aldrich – A BPTMN graduate from the Class of 2022 and a native Texan, Scott is married with three children. He is a longtime volunteer and outdoor advocate who understands the power of educating youth. Scott is an Eagle Scout and continues to hone the values and skills he learned in the Scouting program. He is a Leave No Trace Master Educator, BSA Certified Angling Instructor, and TPWD Angling Educator. He is a District Training Chair and a Summer Camp Area Director for the Circle Ten Council of Scouts BSA. Scott is an avid volunteer and participates in many aspects of the outdoor program with Scouting. Scott had the opportunity to live and work in both Europe and Asia and has experienced different cultures and attitudes toward the environment. Applying these views to his own experience has helped broaden his understanding of how we can affect our environment. He hopes to further his education and knowledge of his native Texas to help educate and persuade others to love and cherish our wild lands.
