I volunteer on the rehab side of the Blackland Prairie Raptor Center, as a MIT guide on the Education Committee, and create social media posts on the Communications Team.
I stay active because I enjoy spending time with like-minded people. When facing a forest, some people just see the trees. Master Naturalists see the flora and make inferences about the soil and climate. We look for the fauna and see the connections. Then we turn around to point it out to someone else so they can see it too. We’re the ones that step CLOSER to the scat. 😁
