Happy Friday, lovely Texas Master Naturalists!
This month’s newsletter, “Shaking the Trees,” is packed with exciting updates and opportunities! We’re celebrating the Blackland Prairie Chapter’s Class of 2025 graduates, calling for volunteers to help transform Monarch View Park into a pollinator paradise on May 17th & 18th, and offering advanced training in Entomology. Plus, the North Texas Chapter is hosting an Accessibility in Nature talk and workshop on June 4th & 5th. You can also delve into personal reflections in Deborah Canterbury‘s piece on the Shaking of the Trees newsletter’s 60th edition, learn about Monarch training with Carol Clark, enjoy a serene poem with her own images from Linda Barnes, and read John Garbutt’s “My Spring Amongst the Night-Herons.” Check your Member VHAT Calendar for more upcoming events and don’t forget – Laura needs your help at Monarch View Park!

BEACON LIT – WILL YOU ANSWER LAURA’s CALL FOR AID at Monarch View Park?
Join us this Saturday and Sunday for the next exciting step in transforming the hill at Monarch View Park into a thriving pollinator garden! Last year, we kicked off phase 1 by planting around 1,000 native perennials at the top of the hill. Over the next three years, we’ll keep adding native plants until this former Johnson Grass-covered berm becomes a vibrant habitat for pollinators. Community help is key to keeping it growing strong—come be a part of this transformation! We’d love to see you there! - Chapter Advisor
