2025 Winner: Blackland Prairie Restoration & Education, Play Frisco, Frisco, Texas
https://www.nrpa.org/about-national-recreation-and-park-association/press-room/nrpa-recognizes-excellence-in-parks-and-recreation-with-the-innovation-and-spotlight-awards5/

Here’s a summary from Frisco’s submission to be considered for the award:

Play Frisco’s Blackland Prairie Restoration & Education program addresses this issue through an interdisciplinary approach that combines restoration, education, and cultural connection. Residents, educators, nonprofits, and volunteers work together to rebuild native prairie ecosystems and foster environmental stewardship.

The program’s multi-layered strategy includes public events, service learning, teacher workshops, museum programming, and hands-on restoration.

Note: Their partnership and support received from BPTMN are mentioned multiple times in their submission.
