Michelle Connally, 2018
At our January 2023 Meeting, attendees were enamored with the talent of our class of 2022 graduates. We learned about the color of butterfly wings from a retired Geologist, Steve Franks, Jenny Perez’s Ecopsychology, Nat Geo worthy videos in Sam Crowe’s Birding Potpourri and an introduction to the Native Tribes of North Central Texas by Chris Ulch, who talked every attendee into going to a powwow. There was a bonus at the end of January 2023 meeting, like icing on a cupcake. Everyone was handed a tri fold hand out of the Native Bees of Texas, Illustrated by Katie McElroy, this was her project instead of a presentation. Katie used her artistic skills to demonstrate what she learned about Native Bees. She did such a great job, I wanted to share her work with everyone not at the meeting as well as Texas native bee seekers in the future.
