11/19/2024 by mconnally

Have you wanted to participate in a Native Plant Rescue? Here is your chance to join fellow naturalists from the surrounding communities to extract plants from a large pocket prairie at Plano Senior High School and transplant the native plants at the Canyon Creek Wetlands and Wildscapes project.

When: Saturday, November 23rd @ 8:00 am

Rescue location: Plano Senior High School Softball Field (park at Haggard Middle School; 2832 Parkhaven Dr, Plano, TX 75075; see map below)

Please join us to rescue native plants from a large pocket prairie that will be bulldozed soon to prepare for construction on the grounds of Plano Senior High School campus, the North corner of the softball field.

We will have pots to transfer plants to the Canyon Creek Wetlands and Wildscape project approx. 3 miles to the south, where we will plant them immediately. All are welcome for both/either the rescue and the replanting.

Replanting location: 1001 George Bush Turnpike, Richardson, TX 75080 (south of the Hilton Garden Inn)

Please bring a sharp-shooter shovel, gloves, sun protection and water to stay hydrated.
