NTMWD Green Stormwater Infrastructure Workshops

04/09/2024 by mconnally

David Cowan, North Texas Municipal Water District

The North Texas Municipal Water District, Texas A&M AgriLife and the City of McKinney are excited to extend an invitation to you for our upcoming workshops on Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI).
As our urban areas continue to expand, managing stormwater runoff effectively has become increasingly critical to mitigate flooding, protect water quality, and enhance overall environmental sustainability. Green Stormwater Infrastructure offers a holistic approach that integrates natural systems with engineered solutions to manage stormwater in a more sustainable and cost-effective manner.

The workshops aim to introduce innovative and sustainable approaches to managing stormwater through green infrastructure solutions.
Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Gain insights into the principles and benefits of GSI.
  • Explore various types of GSI techniques such as rain gardens, bioswales, permeable pavements, and green roofs.
  • Understand the design considerations and best practices for implementing GSI projects.
  • Learn about case studies highlighting successful GSI implementations in urban environments.
  • Engage in interactive discussions and networking with fellow professionals.

For your convenience, we are offering two workshops, one in Wylie and one in McKinney. Both will offer the same information and optional tours of GSI features afterward.

Kindly RSVP at the link below to reserve your spot at one of the workshops.
