Our Tribe’s Fortune 1000 Hours – Rick Park

06/10/2022 by mconnally

Rick Park, 2020

” It is very satisfying to see the changes and improvements I have seen over the last 2 years at both locations ( Connemara and Raptor Center) and knowing I am a major contributor to these improvements.”

I was a member of the class of 2020. My introduction to the master naturalist program came from Bob Mione who I had been working with on restoration projects at the Connemara meadows. I enjoyed the opportunity to stay active, be outside and contribute to maintaining a pocket of nature in a crowded residential area. My activities at Connemara led to an introduction to Lorelei Stierlen at the Blackland Prairie Raptor Center who was in the process of a major restoration project there. I now spend close to 5 mornings a week at Connemara and 1 or 2 afternoons at the raptor center.
