Our Tribe’s Fortune 15,000 Hours – Karen Mitchell

10/17/2022 by mconnally

Deborah Canterbury, 2014

“Volunteering gives me a sense of purpose and allows me to give back for all those years I worked and did nothing else.”

– Karen Mitchell, Class of 2011

I volunteer at Blackland Prairie Raptor Center and Outdoor Learning Center.  I love working with animals and both of these venues meet that goal.  I also volunteer as an Ombudsman for the State of Texas.

Being a member of Master Naturalist has done a lot for me – meeting like minded people – making wonderful friends and keeping me out of trouble.  Volunteering gives me a sense of purpose and allows me to give back for all those years I worked and did nothing else.
