Our Tribe’s Fortune 250 Hours – Leah Justice

05/01/2022 by mconnally

By Leah Justice, 2021

“I thoroughly enjoy caring for the animals and working with the care team.”

– Leah

As a newer member of the chapter, I volunteered for many different activities throughout the past year in order to broaden my knowledge.  I have worked in prairies at different times of the year, learned about tree surveying, and planted trees.  Last fall, an opportunity came up for me to help in Animal Care at the Heard Museum. Since then, I have been taking care of the education and exhibit animals twice a week. Overall, joining the Blackland Prairie Chapter of Texas Master Naturalists has been an amazing experience for me.  I get to work with a tribe of people who are passionate about nature and enjoy sharing their knowledge with others!
