Scissor-tailed (Butter) Flycatcher

05/01/2024 by mconnally

Balaji Devarajan, Class of 2022

Scissor-tailed Flycatchers have taken residence near the fields by my house, and I spend hours watching them!
When I told these birds I am a Texas Master Naturalist, they challenged me with a butterfly ID quiz!
I guessed 6 out of 8 correct.

Sharing the same test with you all here – how many butterflies can you ID before seeing the caption under each photo?

This is a good crash course on springtime North Central Texas butterflies (as of April 2024).

Hope I get more cool shots.
Enjoy the photos!
