Curious about local wildlife and conservation? Come say hello at the BPTMN Community Engagement Booth! Catch us at the Heard Museum, the Blackland Prairie Raptor Center, and the Mothing event at Connemara. We can’t wait to see you there!

  • July 26 – Magical Moth Night – 8-11 pm. –
    Magical Mothing Event at the Heard Museum, Celebrating National Moth Week

  • August 2 – Blackland Prairie Raptor Center First Saturday  9 am – Noon
    • Celebrating the amazing Mississippi Kite, a migratory raptor species in North Texas.  Attend a live raptor program, nature walk guided by Texas Master Naturalist, and educational activities for the entire family.  Located at Brockdale Park, Lucas Texas
  • August 15 –  Heard Homeschool Day  9 am – 5 pm
    • Homeschoolers and their families are invited to join us for a day of fun and learning at the Heard. Families will enjoy a discount on event tickets: buy one, get one of equal of lesser value free. Be sure to use promo code HSDAY2024 when you . Join us for special activities and visit with representatives from local organizations!

  • September 6 – Blackland Prairie Raptor Center First Saturday  9 am – Noon
    • Join in the fun, featuring Petunia, a gregarious black vulture for International Vulture Awareness Day.  Attend a live raptor program, nature walk guided by Texas Master Naturalist, and educational activities for the entire family.  Located at Brockdale Park, Lucas Texas
  • September 13 – BPTMN Mothing Event – Connemara 
    • Join us for a mothing event at Connemara Meadow Preserve! The Blackland Prairie Chapter of Texas Master Naturalists is hosting its 3rd Annual Mothing Event. We’ll meet on the evening of September 13 from 7-9p in the Pecan Grove at The Connemara Meadow.
    • This is a family friendly event sponsored by Blackland Prairie Master Naturalist. Your friends and family members are welcome to join you in the Pecan Grove. There is no cost to attend.
    • Several Master Naturalists will be setting up mothing equipment so you can have a fun and educational evening in the meadow.
    • This is a family-friendly event sponsored by our chapter. Your friends and family are welcome to join you in the Pecan Grove.
    • There is no cost to attend.
    • It will be dark at the conclusion of this event.  Be sure to bring a flashlight to help you find your way back to your vehicle.
