The Brazos Valley Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalists will host a workshop on iNaturalist on Saturday, May 18, from 10am to 3pm led by Tania Homayoun, with Texas Parks and Wildlife (she was our chapter presenter last November). We’ll meet at the Lick Creek Park Nature Center for about an hour and a half of indoor instruction on using the the iNaturalist platform. Then we’ll break for lunch (bring your own bag lunch!) before heading outside to do a 1.5-2 hour “bioblitz” at Lick Creek Park to practice using the app and increase the number of iNaturalist records at Lick Creek Park.
Participants should come to the workshop with iNaturalist already downloaded onto their phone and, if they feel comfortable doing so, to have an iNaturalist account already set up (which is free). That will help save some time and allow Tania to try and troubleshoot with anyone who has issues getting set up. Anyone who typically uses a camera is welcome to bring that, too, since we’ll also cover uploading camera images through the website. Otherwise, bring a lunch, water, and appropriate shoes.
To ensure we have enough space for all participants, please fill out the (very brief) registration form linked here:

This event will qualify for Advance Training (AT) credit for Master Naturalists. You will need to use this link to record your training at the event: AT-iNaturalist Training Seminar TMN AT Report Hours.
