“Come join us for a morning out in Wharton County on the Harrison-Burr Property on Saturday, April 29th for our annual Spring Bird Count.
Birders of all levels are welcome but please be aware this activity is ideal for birders who don’t mind covering difficult terrain seeking and counting birds in various habitats. Average duration of this count is 3 – 3.5 miles over the course of 4-4.5 hours, depending on the pace of the group.
There is no fee to attend, however sign-up is required.
Gates open at 7:00am for our early birds, with the hike scheduled to start promptly at 7:30am. We ask that you. please arrive at least 10-minutes prior to hike departure.
Dress weather appropriate! Sun screen, insect repellant, and a bottle of water/snack are highly encouraged. Our trails consist of mowed paths and levees throughout the property therefore in the early mornings the grass can be dewy. If it has been raining in the days leading up to this event, consider rain boots as it will be muddy. Cameras are welcome, but please no flash photography.
All participants are required to complete our liability release waiver prior to or upon arriving. The LINK for the E-Waiver will be provided in your confirmation email.
