Texas Native Cats Hosts Recovering America’s Wildlife Act – AT

August 11, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Join us as Rachel Rommel-Crump makes a virtual presentation as our guest speaker on RAWA, Recovering America’s Wildlife Act, and what this Act means for Texas wildlife, including our native cats. The bipartisan Recovering America’s Wildlife Act would be the most significant investment in wildlife conservation in a generation—it would fund wildlife and habitat conservation in states, territories, and tribal lands to address our nation’s wildlife crisis and help prevent thousands of species from becoming endangered. Across the country, biologists have identified more than 12,000 Species of Greatest Conservation Need—including 1,300 here in Texas. Learn more about the need for the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act and how you can get involved to help bring game-changing resources to Texas that would greatly benefit wildlife, land, and people.

Rachel Rommel-Crump is the State Coordinator for the Texas Alliance for America’s Fish and Wildlife. She has provided leadership and support to a wide range of programs for vulnerable and endangered wildlife, in Texas and abroad. She holds a master’s degree in Wildlife Science from Texas A&M University where she conducted research related to community engagement and the endangered Houston toad. She now works with a growing coalition of organizations and businesses who have come together in support of wildlife & habitat conservation, nature education, and outdoor recreation in Texas.
