Bats of Texas – AT

September 21 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Bats are one of the most fascinating creatures the earth has to offer.  The only mammals with true flight.  They are found on every continent except Antarctica.  They eat everything nature has to offer.  They are also one of the most misunderstood and maligned animals on Earth, for no good reason.  Join us to discover what makes bats amazing and why you need not fear them but celebrate them!

Kiersten Gibizov is the Center Coordinator for Community Programs at Dogwood Canyon Audubon Center.  Kiersten has a Master’s Degree in Animal Behavior from the University of Georgia, Athens.  Her thesis was on the breeding behavior of the Tri-colored bat.  She has been a zookeeper for ten years and an environmental educator for twenty.  She interned at the Lubee Bat Conservancy in Gainesville, FL where she got to work with the largest collection of living fruit bats in the United States. She will talk about bats to anyone that will listen, all day long!

Seating is limited. Please RSVP by calling 214-821-7400.
