Trail Building at Pratt Nature Preserve
Work hours will be 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, on Saturday, May 11, so come when you can and stay as long or little as you’d like. Landon Fehrenbacher and Michael Pierce, Eagle Scout candidates with Troop 424 are heading up the project. (Landon is east side and Michael is west side of the property). They are asking volunteers to bring shovels, hard rakes, and wheel barrows, if possible, and work gloves, and a water bottle. The primary work will be placing the decomposed granite on the trail bed. The trail is 4 feet wide and approximately 2,000 feet long. They will be placing a 2 inch layer of stone on weed barrier fabric.
This is a huge project, so we are looking for all the help we can get.
Volunteers should contact Landon and/or Michael directly so they can add that information for their project planning ([email protected] – east side – and/or [email protected] – west side). In addition, please copy [email protected] and [email protected] (the Scout dads) for compliance with BSA requirements.
For questions, Dinah Stults, the Elm Fork Project Manager for Pratt can be reached at [email protected] or 972-977-1789. John Smith, the Town Manager, can be reached at [email protected].
Thank you!!!!
