Urban Forests & Heat Island Mitigation – AT

This webinar will include presentations from: Mac Martin, Partnership Coordinator, Texas A&M Forest Service; Matt Grubisich, Parks Director, City of Garland; and Cheri Cuellar, Urban Forestry Coordinator, Texas Trees Foundation.
Mac Martin will present on the importance of urban forests and increasing urban canopy cover, and how this relates to urban heat island mitigation. Matt Grubisich will present case studies on how cities are addressing urban heat. Cheri Cuellar will discuss the work Texas Trees Foundation is doing around equity and urban canopy cover.
