VMS opportunity: Adopt-a-Highway
Note: This VMS opportunity also qualifies as a Texas Waters Specialist project.
Volunteers please meet at 8:30 a.m. at the parking lot of the St John Lutheran Church in Rutersville.
Be sure to wear sturdy closed toe shoes and long pants. Sun screen, a hat, water and insect repellant are good to bring along with your trash picker upper. Call one of us should you need to borrow one or if you have any questions.
We pick up trash and recyclables on a 2-mile stretch of the highway so the more volunteers, the shorter the route for each pair of volunteers. This is a great service project for getting to know your fellow chapter members and learning about the natural environment in our area. Come one and all for a morning of camaraderie.
Because of continuing construction along the route, we will only be clearing the stretch from Rocky Creek Road and Windy Hill Lane.
