Join Tim Siegmund for a morning tour at 203-acre Elder Prairie Preserve in Washington County in various states of restoration. Explore what the prairie has to offer at the start of fall. Tim leads the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department’s Private Lands and Habitat Program and serves on the NPAT board.

Elder Prairie is not only a vital part of the endangered Blackland Prairie ecosystem but also features a unique subtype known as Fayette Prairie, which is the namesake of our chapter. This area represents one of the largest remaining examples of Fayette Prairie, making our conservation efforts even more critical.
