We would like to extend an invitation for you to attend our upcoming Fire Field Day on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 8:00am to 5:00pm in College Station, Texas. This hands-on training event is designed for landowners, ranchers, natural resource professionals, fire practitioners, and local officials who are interested in learning more about prescribed fire and its role in land stewardship and natural resource management.
Free to attend and lunch will be provided – the field day is designed with all experience levels in mind. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about fire ecology, prescribed burn planning, weather and fuel assessment, fire behavior, ignition techniques, safety protocols, and post-burn management. Weather permitting, attendees will also participate in a live prescribed burn and observe real-time decision-making and fire operations in the field. This field day can also fulfill the in-person fire-experience component for individuals who have completed the online Certified and Insured Prescribed Burn Manager Course. Participants can earn 6 Continuing Fire Training (CFT) credits.
For Texas Master Naturalists interested in habitat management, ecological restoration, invasive species control, wildlife habitat improvement, and healthy working lands, prescribed fire remains one of the most effective and important management tools available. This field day offers an excellent opportunity to learn directly from experienced fire practitioners and gain practical knowledge you can apply in your communities and volunteer efforts.
Registration is available at tx.ag/PrescribedFire. Don’t delay – be sure to register today!
We also encourage you to explore our events page for more educational programs, workshops, webinars, and field days focused on rangeland stewardship, prescribed fire, grazing management, drought resilience, and natural resource conservation. We are adding more events daily, so be sure to check back often to see when we will be in your area!
If you have any questions or need any additional information, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
We hope to see you in College Station!
