Brenham Jr. High – Quail Necropsy

VMS opportunity: Educational Group Presentations

On Wednesday December 18, 2024, Brenham Junior High School science teachers will be conducting quail necropsies with their students in classroom labs. Since there will be 3 classes running concurrently, they need lots of volunteers to help these sessions run smoothly. The lesson will be lead by one or more science teachers in each classroom.

Lori Buffum is coordinating the Texas Master Naturalist volunteers from our chapter so please contact her with

• your availability (all day or certain hours)
• your level of experience (done this before and/or comfortable with the science OR somewhat knowledgeable OR willing to lend a helping hand)
• your full name and cell phone number.

Please note that all levels of experience are welcome to join us as we help these junior high kids experience hands-on learning. Newbies will be paired up with experienced volunteers!!

Date: Wednesday December 18th
Location: Brenham Junior High School 1200 Carlee St, Brenham, TX
Hours: 7:30 am to 3:30 pm
3 classrooms will be conducting 45 minute sessions all day
Lunch will be provided for the volunteers.

Gideon Lincecum chapter members have helped with Quail Necropsy Day for many years and we are excited to be part of this hands-on event again.
