Schubert House Workday
May 16 @ 8:30 am - 11:00 am
VMS opportunity: Schubert House Pollinator Project
Calling all Schubert House – Giddings Pollinator Garden Volunteers! It desperately needs our TMN-GLC TLC! I went by the Garden earlier today and, lo and behold, those silly weeds like our rain bounty like the neat pollinator plants we have planted over the year! Aye!!!
Workday is this Thursday, May 16 at 8:30. Sorry for the short notice, but Co-Chair Cindy Hobbs and I thought it would be good to have the Garden cleaned-up before the upcoming Lee County Fair Celebration coming up this weekend. It looks like weather is in our favor, but of course we certainly will keep an eye on it!
2019 Graduates: This is a Great Way to Jump-Start your beginning volunteer hour accumulations!
A NEAT NOTE: The native milkweed we planted last year is indeed re-established! Thank Goodness we did not pull the tender plants at our March 22 Spring clean-up. One plant I saw is ready to bloom for the next Monarch Migration Wave coming through! We’ll be clearing weeds, pruning shrubs and cleaning things up. The mulch we spread in March is holding up nicely. I hope to start the herb garden at the base of the flag pole.
Wear layered clothing (the morning may be on the cool side); bring gloves, trowels, shovels, lobbers, etc. And of course, bring your insect repellent of choice and water!
Please call Karen Woods (281.682.2810) or Cindy Hobbs (979.338.9374) if you have any questions or suggestions. We look forward to seeing you there!
