Volunteer Opportunity – Monument Hill Workday – RESCHEDULED
>>Record in VMS (plus your travel time) as: Monument Hill State Historic Site: Gideon Lincecum Master Naturalists<<
We have regular workdays for the 3rd Fridays of the month, beginning at 9:00 a.m. We will probably be done by 11:30.
For this month, we are changing the standing 3rd Friday of the month Monument Hill workday schedule to Monday, October 12, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. (address 414 State Loop 92, La Grange Texas 78945). We probably will be done by noon.
With the recent rains, plants are growing and the trails need clearing for the upcoming Archeology Day on the 15th and 16th. The focus is on trail clearing. We also may have some follow-up work on the erosion area by a bridge. The area is wooded, and we know snakes are still out, so we want to take precautions!
Please bring tools (lobbers, shovels, small saws and light-weight weed-eater if you have one); protective items (boots, heavy duty gloves as well as standard garden gloves, hat, sunscreen, repellant), and of course WATER!!
Thanks Again for your volunteering! Please call if you have any questions.
