University of Texas Ichthyology Collections

May 18, 2015 by glennkleinert

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking detail oriented volunteers to provide assistance in day-to-day operations with their natural history museum collections.  Specifically they are looking for volunteers interested in working in the area of ichthyology.  Typically volunteers would assist with specimen curation and labeling, data entry and quality control, specimen photography, specimen sorting, counting and identification, assist in field collections, work with alcohol and formaldehyde solutions, data base improvements and other lab related activities.  It is preferred that volunteers dedicate at least 4 hours per week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday.  They are located at The Pickle Research Campus in North Austin.  If you are interested in this opportunity, contact Melissa Casarez ([email protected]).  They ask that those interested in volunteering provide a short statement about their interest in working there.

Directions:  The Pickle Research Campus is located at 10100 Burnet Road, Austin, Texas 78758
