BCNWR Needs Volunteers

May 19, 2015 by glennkleinert

Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge (BCNWR) needs volunteers to man activity stations for its Going Buggy Program for elementary students.  The students will be studying terrestrial and aquatic insects and learning about insect families.  The program will be held Wednesday, May 20th at the Doeskin Ranch facility located on FM 1174.  Volunteers should arrive at 7:30 a.m. as the program runs from 8:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.  Bring a chair and lunch.  Water and snacks are provided.  For additional information and to receive program activity instructions, contact Cindy Fronk at [email protected] or 512 339 9432

The Doeskin Ranch facility is an outdoor facility located on the East side of FM 1174 about half way between Bertram and the intersection of FM 1174 with FM 1431.  From Georgetown drive west on Hwy 29 to Bertram and turn left (south) on 1174 and drive to the facility.  If coming on FM 1431, drive west past the BCNWR Headquarters to the intersection with FM 1174, turn right (north) and proceed to Doeskin Ranch.
