Berry Springs Park & Preserve Odonate Survey

May 17, 2016 by glennkleinert

There will be an Odonate (dragonflies and damselflies) survey held Saturday May 28th, from 2:00pm – 5:00pm at Berry Springs Park and Preserve. Volunteers are needed and you can learn as you participate in the survey. TMN Volunteer Hours will be earned by participation. The immediate goal of this survey will be to add additional species, and to continue acquiring digital photographs of any odonates encountered. The survey will entail a group or groups, depending on number of participants, walking around the park to locate, photograph, and identify odonates. A record of observations will be maintained. Bring a camera and close focusing binoculars if you have them. Wear clothes appropriate for walking in wet areas, wear sunscreen and bring a water bottle. Also take precautions against chiggers. Identification tips will be available after the survey for those who want to stay and learn.
