Berry Springs Seed Harvesting and Flower Bed Beautification

April 11, 2017 by vickizardiackas

We have had a wonderful spring and all of the wildflowers we have in the park are the proof. Over the years volunteers have collected seeds and spread them in our flower beds and our wildflower areas and we will continue to do so.

Our bluebonnets are starting to fade and poppies will soon follow. Our Spring Clean Up on Mar. 10th was cut short due to rain and therefore we still have some planting and weeding of beds that needs to be done.

We need volunteers for Wed. April 19th & Wed. April 26th 9am-noon on both days to help us with seed harvesting and flower bed beautification. If you can come please respond to susieblackledge@gmail.com about which day(s) you can come and  I will sign you up.

Bring scissors or hand pruners, weeding tool, work gloves and a water bottle. We will meet at the information Kiosk on the park entrance road @ 9am. There is some parking at the kiosk area  and also at the front of the campground.

If you can’t make it and would like to clean the seeds, please let me know also by responding to this email. I will bring some seeds to our April 27th meeting.

If these times don’t work for you but you are interested in helping please let me know that also and I will work with your schedule.
I will look forward to hearing from you, —

Susan Blackledge, Park Manager
