NPAT Volunteer Opportunity

January 28, 2019 by kateknight

February is almost here, and NPAT has a couple of regular monthly opportunities to visit and learn about prairie landscapes in the Austin area:

LANDSCAPE LEARNING DAY at Elisabet Ney Museum,
Saturday, February 2 from 10 a.m. to noon.
304 E 44th St,, 78751 Join us for a walk around the grounds to see what’s coming up and to help weed some of the non-native annuals. Bring gloves and weeding tools. NPAT is collaborating with this City of Austin art museum to work on their historic landscape restoration. For more information and to sign up, contact Kirsti Harms.

NATURE WALK AND WORK DAY at Indiangrass Prairie
Sunday, February 17 from 7:30 a.m. to noon
These monthly access days offer a chance to explore one of the last prairie remnants in the Austin area. Join City of Austin staff as we explore the prairie through the seasons and help with restoration projects.  Meet at the intersection of Blue Bluff Road and Bloor Road. For more information (and later arrival times), contact Kirsti Harms.
